("Basic Edition" differences are shown in red)
Includes the following...
|
The Printed Materials
Includes:
"The SpringCircuits™ Electronics Learning System" Roadmap,
Learning Unit I,
Learning Unit II (not included in the Basic Edition),
SpringCircuits™ Schematic Practice sheets (reproducible),
One Dry-Erase Marker,
SpringCircuits™ Binder (to hold the printed materials) |
Loop-Fabric Board (x 1)
Advanced Edition: 12"x18" (nominally) (Basic Edition: 9"x12" (nominally))
with heavy-duty rubber trim, vinyl corner caps, and industrial strength loop-fabric
|
Battery Piece & Holder (x 1)
and Three AA Batteries
Both the battery piece and holder mount on the loop-fabric board.
(Batteries included, but not shown)
|
| Types of SpringCircuits™ Pieces included are: |
Corner Connector Piece (x 8)
Right-angle connection - two bent-spring connectors on adjacent sides
|
Four-Side Connector Piece (x 2)
( (x 1) included in Basic Edition )
Four-side connection - four bent-spring connectors on all sides connected together.
|
Four-Side Crossover Piece (x 1)
Four-side crossover connection - two sets of two bent-spring connectors on opposite sides not intersecting
|
Line Connector Piece (x 6)
Straight line connection - two bent-spring connectors on opposite sides
|
Three-side Connector Piece (x 8)
( (x 2) included in Basic Edition )
Three sides connected - three bent-spring connectors on three adjacent sides
|
Resistor Piece (x 6)
Resistance values chosen to match Learning Module conents
( 1 kΩ, 1 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 100 kΩ, 100 Ω )
|
Capacitor Piece (x 3)
( (x 1) included in Basic Edition )
Capacitance values chosen to match Learning Modules
|
Lamp Piece (x 2)
Low voltage light bulbs
|
LED Piece (x 2)
Light-Emitting-Diode (LED) piece (red/green)
|
SPST Switch Piece (x 2)
SPST means "single pole single throw" - the lessons teach what this mean (a basic on-off toggle switch).
|
SPDT Switch Piece (x 2)
SPDT means "single pole double throw" - this switch is what's known as an on-on toggle switch.
|
1S1R Receptacle Piece (x 4)
( not included in Basic Edition )
"1S1R" is SpringCircuits language for "one spring and one receptacle." The receptacle mounted on top is compatible with 22 AWG jumper wire. This allows you to make connections between other pieces with receptacles or with a standard breadboard.
|
2S2R Receptacle Piece (x 2)
"2S2R" is SpringCircuits language for "two springs and two receptacles." The receptacles mounted on top are compatible with 22 AWG jumper wire. This piece is perfect for swapping in and out two-lead components, sensors, buzzers, etc. This piece is perfect for replacing a line connector piece so you can take a current reading.
|
2R1S Receptacle Pieces (x 2)
( not included in Basic Edition )
"2S1R" is SpringCircuits language for "two springs and one receptacle." The receptacle mounted on top is compatible with 22 AWG jumper wire. This piece makes stringing different circuit sections together. This is best illustrated in the learning modules or user guide.
|
3R3S Receptacle Piece (x 2)
( not included in Basic Edition )
"3S3R" is SpringCircuits language for "three springs and three receptacles." The receptacles mounted on top are compatible with 22 AWG jumper wire. This piece is perfect for three-lead components - especially a transistor. You can easily try different transistors using this piece, or if you accidently fry one - just replace it.
|
Diode Piece (x 1)
Typical switching diode (1N914 or compatible)
|
Transistor Piece (x 1)
Transistor chosen to match Learning Modules (as Learning Modules are updated and improved, the transistor may change). Currently, the transistor is 2N2222. (Not included in the Basic Edition)
|
| Additional items included: |
Individual Components
Various individual electronic components are included to go along with the lessons. Including loose resistors, jumper wires, a buzzer, and more.
(Individual components vary in number and type between the Advanced and Basic Editions in order to match the included lessons)
|
Digital Multimeter
Yours to keep even if you decide to return SpringCircuits™.
